Homemade in Monterey since 1980
Three generations of the Culcasi family, serving comfort food, award-winning cakes, and a warm welcome on historic Alvarado Street.

Founded by Jim & Rosine Culcasi. Run today by their son, Jim Jr.
Our Story
In 1980, Jim and Rosine Culcasi opened a small family restaurant with their four children. Everyone pitched in — cooking, baking, serving, and greeting every guest by name. That spirit never left.
Today Rosine's is a third-generation Monterey institution, famous for hearty homemade soups, from-scratch comfort classics, and a bakery case of cakes and pies that people drive across the county for.
Jim & Rosine and their four children open at the Del Monte Shopping Center — an instant local favorite.
The restaurant moves to historic downtown Monterey, where it has stayed ever since.
The second generation steps in as the founders retire — every recipe kept intact.
Three generations on and 44 years strong — a perennial “Best of Monterey” winner.
